The
Recorder
A popular lower priced, smaller wind instrument which is why it
has always been popular with children to learn as perhaps their
first musical instrument. From the flute family, it has a conical
tubular bore shape. It is generally constructed from wood.
Air passes down the pipe and notes are achieved by the note holes
along it's length. A sound can be easily created unlike some other
air instruments that require a lot more technique in order to achieve
a descent sound from blowing into the mouthpiece. This is a very
old instrument probably over 1000 years old. Has been very popular
in classical and chamber music.
